    Hundreds of IBEW Jobs Saved!
03/14/19 - International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 21
As a result of many discussions that occurred between our IBEW leadership and AT&T all involuntary force reductions were pulled down. Hundreds of jobs in many different departments would have been lost if these conversations didn’t occur. IBEW workforce reductions across all departments in the second quarter of 2019 will occur with only volunteers accepting separation packages. The results of everyone’s efforts have paid off. While no one can guarantee what may happen in the future, today we all can breathe a sigh of relief.

    AT&T Contemplates Layoff
03/06/19 - International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 21
AT&T notified IBEW Local Union 21 that they are contemplating a Premises Technician Layoff.  A layoff has not been announced. Discussions are taking place to reduce the possibility of a layoff and determine if AT&T will reduce the number of contractors performing DirecTV work and if that reduction will eliminate or reduce the number of Premises Technicians that could be affected by AT&T’s contemplated layoff. We must stress a layoff has not yet been announced and that AT&T may not eliminate all contractors. IBEW Local 21 representatives and management are discussing alternatives to avoid AT&T’s contemplated layoff. We realize this will cause anxiety but our focus right now is to minimize or eliminate the contemplated layoff of Premises Technicians.
